6 Ways to Stay Productive and Present in Uncertainty
You may be used to working at home, but our current reality presents even more challenges for holding focus and remaining productive.
There’s a lot to be said for preserving some normalcy in our daily lives. Team Member Tammy shared much of the information below, and we felt it crucial to also share it with you.
Find a Designated Space
Select a space in your home to work and stick to it. While you’ll feel (and be) more productive, it’s equally important to be able to get away from work. Be sure to have everything you need to carry out your work in your designated space. For me, that includes 16 pads of multi-colored Post-It notes (yes, really), MacBook Pro, my favorite Dollar Store pens, spiral notebook, and mouse/mouse pad.
Stick to Your Routine
It’s easy to slip out of your routine–even more so now. Work to stick to your regular routine as much as you can. Get up at the same time, exercise or walk at around the same time, go to bed at the same time.
Have a Plan
At the beginning of each day:
1) Jot down 3 business goals for your day.
2) Jot down 1 thing you’ll do to bless someone else.
3) Jot down 1 thing you’ll do for your family.
4) Jot down 1 thing you’ll do for yourself.
Next, focus your attention on accomplishing them.
Learn Something New
Purchase an Audible subscription or set aside an hour to listen to an informative podcast. Search YouTube for inspiring professionals–some of my favorites are Gary Vaynerchuk and Sunny Lenarduzzi. And, I hear that Agent Operations has some good stuff on their channel, too. 🤓
Don’t Be Afraid to Set Boundaries
Set expectations for those around you. When you’re working, you’re working. When you’re playing, you’re playing. Boundaries will make you more efficient and PRESENT, which means that your tasks will be completed faster and with less distraction, and you’ll be there for your family.
Take Regular Breaks
Set your fitness watch to ping you every hour and MOVE around! Stretch, go on a quick walk or venture outside for a few minutes for fresh air. Get your blood flowing–you’ll feel better, and your work will BE better, too. Studies prove it.
We can do this. We can overcome this challenging time, one day at a time.
